Bancroft Gardens is an excellently refurbished private residential care home situated in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon opposite to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the beautiful River Avon providing long term & short term care for 16 older people with a variety of different needs.
Residents can enjoy outings with relatives or members of staff to shop, go out for coffee or tea, or walk in the Bancroft Gardens beside the river (or even go on a river trip in the summer), or to feed ducks. Activities include Reminiscence Sessions, visits from local 6th Form students to chat and play cards, bingo, scrabble board etc. Music and Mobility sessions to keep limbs from getting stiff; craft afternoons; music and sing-songs organised by professional musicians. We are involved with the "Kissing It Better" project. There are opportunities for the residents to benefit from local concerts and shows.
We endeavor to enable our residents to retain as much freedom as possible by offering choices and flexibility. We also seek to improve the quality of residents' lives by helping them to regain or retain their dignity.
To achieve these objectives, the Home seeks to enable its staff to carry out their duties with consideration, compassion, and competence by recognising the importance of training and development, thus ensuring that all who work at Bancroft Gardens remain highly motivated and able to contribute fully to the care of the clients.
We are proud that we were awarded "Gold Standard Frame Work in 2012", "Small Home of the Year 2008" award for Central England & Dignity Award etc.
Stratford is also within easy reach of other interesting places such as Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and the Cotswolds, with close proximity to the major motorway and rail networks.
Visitors are welcome at any time, and whilst there are no formalities we recommend that a telephone call be made prior to arrival for infrequent visitors. We encourage our visitors to feel they are a part of our extended family.
